Volunteers
We are so happy that we will be able to have parents in our building for activities and events this year! If you are interested in volunteering, please use this LINK to fill out areas of interest. We will then contact parents as the need arises. Thank you for your assistance!
Email Reminder
During the course of the year, you will receive emails from both the school and system levels. Although some of the information may not pertain to you, please DO NOT unsubscribe from any Bishop O’Gorman sponsored emails. In the event you do, you will be removed from all email lists, including the one sent from the school office. There is important information provided each week in our St. Mary Updates and we don’t want you to miss out!
Lunch Accounts and Balances
Earlier this summer, President Groos notified all Bishop O’Gorman families that we will again be offering students FREE hot lunch this year. This applies to one reimbursable meal per day, however neither a second milk nor milk as an individual item is covered. For this reason, students may want to have money available in their lunch account in the event they want to purchase a milk with their lunch from home or an additional milk. Any money remaining in student accounts last year will be rolled over into this year.
If needed, you may send a check to the school office to be applied to your child’s lunch account. Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools also offers MySchoolBucks, a convenient online service that allows you to securely pay for your student’s meals online using your credit/debit card or electronic check. Registering for your FREE account is easy: go to https://www.MySchoolBucks.com.
St. Mary Fleece and Sweatshirts
The online store to purchase St. Mary Elementary fleece jackets or sweatshirts will be up and running Aug. 30 - Sep. 12. These are allowed to be worn in the school over polo shirts in accordance with the dress code policy. Watch for the link that will be sent out in future parent updates.
Attendance Matters
Why is attendance important?
Unexpected events or illnesses are likely to occur during the course of a school year. Even if your child misses just a few days here and there, their school performance will be impacted . Also, elementary students are still learning social and emotional skills that will help them throughout their lives. At school, they learn to interact with others, make friends, and build relationships with adults outside their family.
What can parents do?
***Make sure your child arrives at school on time daily. Students enter the building promptly at 7:55am.
***Try to schedule appointments and family trips outside of school hours/days.
Contact Julie Fischer at jfischer@ogknights.org
or call the school office at 334-9881 if you have any questions.
