Today was a special day at St. Mary! First, we had the sibling Meagher duo as our "principals of the day." They did a great job monitoring lunch periods, giving school tours and even handing out some Act Like a Knight cards to students! In addition, these two also got to throw sticky darts for Dart Day.
This afternoon we had Dart Day, where we recognize students who acted like a Knight in their words and actions during the month of October. Our special guest dart thrower was our very own Sioux Falls mayor Paul TenHaken! Congratulations to these students whose card was hit and all of those who had their name on the wall in October. A new month=new chances to "be like a Knight!"

💙Today was the FIRST dart day of the school year! Students who "acted like a Knight" throughout the month of September had their name on a Knight card on the wall in the Gym. Students were recognized for practicing virtues, responsibility and/or faithfulness. We had nearly 300 students who acted like a Knight in September! Mr. Bachmeier threw 6 darts. We had special guests, O'Gorman High School Homecoming king & queen in attendance to also throw darts. The cards of students that were "hit" by the dart received special recognition as well as a prize from Mr. Bachmeier. To say that we are proud of ALL of our students who acted like a Knight in September is an understatement! 💙
We can't wait to keep celebrating Knight-like behavior all year long!

The 3rd graders were able to have the fire house come to our school and learn about what to do if there is a fire at their home. They got to practice checking the door and then safely making their way out a window! Thank you Sioux Falls Fire Rescue for teaching our 3rd graders today!
